Wells Gray Provincial Park

Wells Gray is a volcanic-plateau wilderness northeast of Kamloops, best known for Helmcken Falls (141 m, more than twice Niagara's height) and a chain of drive-to waterfalls along the 65 km Clearwater Valley Road. Beyond the road corridor, canoe routes on Clearwater and Murtle lakes and multi-day traverses to the Trophy Mountains reach truly remote terrain. Front-country campgrounds are first-come or lightly booked; interior canoe sites need permits.
