Our Story

Why we built The Canadian Explorer.

From a single road trip to a country-wide love letter.

The Canadian Explorer began with a simple observation: the best Canadian travel advice was scattered across forums, outdated guidebooks, and paywalled articles. We wanted one place that treated the country with the depth it deserves.

What started as a personal notebook of road-trip itineraries grew into an editorial platform used by hundreds of thousands of travellers each year. We are independent, un-sponsored, and obsessed with accuracy.

Every province page, seasonal guide, and travel tip is researched, written, and maintained by a small team of Canadian writers and photographers who have actually been there.

Editorial

How we work.

Independent

We do not accept sponsored placements, paid partnerships, or free stays in exchange for coverage. Every recommendation is earned.

First-hand

Our writers visit every destination they write about. If we haven't been, we say so — and we send someone who has.

Evergreen

Guides are reviewed seasonally. Prices, hours, and routes are verified before every publish cycle so nothing goes stale.
