Katannilik Territorial Park

Katannilik ('place of waterfalls' in Inuktitut) protects the Soper River valley on southern Baffin Island — a rare treed valley above the tree line where sub-Arctic vegetation, wildflowers and dozens of tributary waterfalls thrive. The Itijjagiaq trail (~120 km) crosses the Meta Incognita Peninsula from Kimmirut to Iqaluit for experienced Arctic backpackers. Access is via Iqaluit and Kimmirut with local Inuit outfitters.
