Parc national des Grands-Jardins

Quebec Est. 1981 310 km²

Boreal taiga and lichen barrens in Charlevoix — the southernmost caribou-like landscape in Quebec.

Overview

In the highlands of the Charlevoix meteor-crater biosphere reserve, Grands-Jardins protects a taiga plateau of black spruce and reindeer-lichen more typical of the sub-Arctic. Mont du Lac des Cygnes is the classic summit hike; canoe camping on Lac Arthabaska is a wilderness classic within 90 minutes of Quebec City.
