Overview

Cyprus Lake is the provincial campground that serves Bruce Peninsula National Park's most-photographed feature, The Grotto. Reservations here include a shot at day-parking that non-campers can't get without a separate timed pass. Three campground loops (Poplar, Birches, Tamarack) sit within a 45-minute walk of the Grotto and Georgian Bay shore. Winter closes the campground but the trail network stays snowshoe-accessible.

Do I need a separate pass for the Grotto?

If you're camping at Cyprus Lake, your reservation includes access. Day visitors need a separate timed Parks Canada pass.

Are rattlesnakes really here?

Yes — massasauga rattlesnake, a species at risk. Give any snake 3 m and it will leave. Bites are extremely rare.

Is Georgian Bay warm enough to swim?

Barely — it's cold. Cyprus Lake itself is much warmer and better for kids.
