Rocky Mountaineer is largely all-inclusive on board (meals, drinks, hotel in Kamloops). VIA's Sleeper Plus and Prestige include meals; coach class does not.

VIA offers a Canrailpass for unlimited Corridor + Western travel within a set window — useful for backpackers and flexible travellers, but not valid on The Canadian's sleeper cabins.

Late October through April outside the holiday weeks. The Canadian runs a reduced winter schedule with significantly lower fares.
