The largest jazz festival on Earth — 3,000 artists, hundreds of free outdoor shows.
Every summer the Quartier des Spectacles becomes the beating heart of global jazz. Festival International de Jazz de Montréal hosts over 500 concerts — most of them free and outdoors — across a closed-off entertainment district humming with energy day and night.
History
Founded in 1980 by Alain Simard and André Ménard, it grew from 12,000 visitors to over 2 million — Guinness-recognized as the world's largest jazz festival.
